INFO

Casabella were formed in London in 2007 by Gianni Rossi, a Milanese guitarist, vocalist and songwriter, Samantha Grant, a London born vocalist and songwriter with Burmese roots and New Zealander Michael Lloyd, a sound engineer, musician and self-confessed David Bowie super fan.

Animated by their desire to create a fresh new sound, Casabella began to write and produce their own music and quickly became regulars on the gig circuit in London. As the band grew in reputation they recruited South African bassist Winton Palmer, French drummer Thierry Deneux, Anglo/Belgian trumpeter Jivana Hunt, Moroccan/French saxophonist Kim Eersel, Jamaican percussionist Derek Ferguson and Brazilian percussionist Manitu Szerman. Together, and inspired by their multi ethnic background, Casabella playfully took the latin-funk sound to a whole new level, fusing powerful vocals with inspired percussion arrangements. Marrying horn blasts with energetic beats, and more than a splash of Salsa. Each song was to come from the heart and carry a harmonious message of soul, energy and spirit but, more importantly though, they would get a crowd up and dancing.

By 2008 the band had started collaborating with Movimientos, Criminal Records and other London music promoters to help establish themselves on the live music scene. The Band released their debut EP "Casabella" in 2009, and in 2010 they were invited to attend concerts in Italy, France and Cyprus. In 2011 CM Records released the album "A Flower", produced by Michael Lloyd.

Other tours followed as Casabella slowly grew a loyal fan base. In 2012 the band were asked to join the 'Bella Vita Tour' as part of an itinerary festival around Europe including Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France, the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands.

With their live pedigree established and various European tours in the bag...by 2013 Casabella were ready to release their follow up album 'Open the Gate'. Italian drummer Ganesha Fode-Bollani joined the band and the horns were stripped down and a distinctly rock-pop edge introduced. A perfect compliment to their classic up-beat sound.
